March is always an exciting month. The weather starts to warm up, grass starts to get green and there is always spring break. We here at the compass look to help you plan and enjoy the month that was named after the Roman god of war, Mars.

ANNUAL BIG BAND SHOW
Jazz fans can enjoy the self proclaimed "Show of the Year" for all three days at the Ed Cabell Theater. Tickets are free for GSC students and staff. Be sure to get your tickets online or call 678-717-3624.

SPRING BREAK
You can always do the Panama City thing, but why not do something different. Check out our Blast! column on Couch Surfing (back page).Whatever is on the agenda, just use these days wisely.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
As soon as spring break ends, we have a bit of bad news: One less hour of sleep.

Students from Georgia's 35 colleges and universiteis are planning a march at the capitol in light of additional educational budget cuts being proposed. Fan the page USG Students for Quality Education on Facebook for more info.

Make an appointment with your adviser (you can find out who it is on your banner web tranguid) and use this time to figure out the next steps in your education process.

LIFESOUTH BLOOD DRIVE
Bring your student ID and save up to three lives by donating blood. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is sponsored by SGA. Contact Cara Ray at 678-717-3899 for more info.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY
This is the original Go Green day. Green clothes, green food and of course green beer. Everyone is Irish for this day. But don't drink and drive!

SELF-DEFENSE WORKSHOP
Contact Amy Pelak at 678-717-3877 if you're interested in this workshop which takes places in Ballroom A in the Student Center. It will be from noon until 1:15 p.m.

EARLY REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER & FALL
This is a very important day for those taking classes here in the future. Be online early (8 a.m.) to assure you get the classes you want. Approach this day with great urgency if you want a good schedule or if you just need to plan school around work.

FOCUS ON CAREERS
Located in the Commons of the Student Center will be information on hundreds of careers. The info will be laid out all day, but counselors will only be there from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Be sure to stop by and ask these counselors any questions you might have.
